MCP tools reference

The twelve MCP tools: search, metadata, similarity, collections, licence-checked downloads, licences, trending and topics — gated by scope and plan.

The MCP server at /mcp exposes twelve tools. Every call is authenticated (API key or OAuth), scope-checked, plan-quota'd and written to the audit log.

Read tools (scope: read)

• search_assets — natural-language search with filmmaker filters.
• get_asset — full metadata for one asset.
• find_similar — assets similar to a given one.
• list_topics — topics and categories.
• get_trending — trending searches and most-downloaded assets.
• get_licence — a previous download's licence record.
• list_collections / get_collection — your shot lists.

Write & download tools

• create_shotlist and add_to_shotlist (scope: collections:write).
• download_asset (scope: download) — licence-checked; returns a signed URL valid 15 minutes plus the licence details.
• suggest_broll_for_script — Pro accounts only.
